Tell the Senate to say NO to a permanent American presence in Iraq!

For the first time the Senate is considering amendments aimed at ending the war in Iraq. As part of the the Senate's consideration of Supplemental Appropriations Bill H.R. 4939, these two amendments will be considered:

1.) Senator Russ Feingold is offering an amendment that requires the redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq by the end of this year! The main thrust of the amendment says: “The United States shall redeploy U.S. forces from Iraq by December 31st, 2006, maintaining only a minimal force sufficient for engaging directly in targeted counter-terrorism activities, training Iraqi security forces, and protecting U.S. infrastructure and personnel.”

2.) Senator Joe Biden is offering an amendment barring spending on permanent U.S. bases in Iraq and on control of Iraqi oil reserves.

This supplemental bill might be the only straight up or down vote in the Senate that we get on the war this year!

Use our easy-to-use email template to tell your Senators you don’t approve of funding a permanent U.S. presence in Iraq, that you want an end to this war and that you want our troops to come home now!

Be sure to personalize your letter – it makes a huge difference in how effective it is!
