STOP THE SALE OF JUNK FOOD TO SCHOOLCHILDREN!Here's a great opportunity to end the outrageous marketing and sale of junk food in our nation's public schools. On April 15th, U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy introduced the Prevention of Childhood Obesity Act. The bill would ban vending machines that sell soda pop and most candy; and, provide grants to schools that prohibit advertising and marketing of "foods of poor or minimal nutritional value such as fast foods, soft drinks, and candy." Our goal is to mobilize 10,000 people across the country to tell their senators to co-sponsor the bill. Together, we will convince our U.S. senators that the health of our children is more important than the profits of the junk food industry. Send
an email to your U.S. senators today in support of the bill. Then, encourage
your your friends, family, and neighbors to email them too. |
