Keep Bay Area Public Transit Free From Commercial TV Intrusion!

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) authorities have decided that their riders don't watch enough television.

So, they are considering plans to place televisions on trains and train platforms.

News reports indicate that as much as one third of the programming would be advertisements, though the revenues to BART would be relatively tiny.

Public transit is public space. Riders don't need to be further assaulted with ads, nor do they need to be confronted at every turn with programming from intrusive television screens.

Please tell BART's board of directors to let riders ride in peace, and without TV ads forced on them.
